Knights of Columbus Gardena Valley Council 4038 Sponsors Essay Contest
All Catholic students in public, private and parochial schools grade 8 - 12 are invited to participate in the 2023 Knights of Columbus Citizenship Essay Contest.
In an essay of 500- 750 words, answer the question, "How can the Church evangelize in the digital age?"
In Biblical times, the only way to “carry” good news was to bring it physically, walking from one place to another. Technological advances, however, have opened up numerous additional communication channels, all of which we can use to amplify the rate at which we spread the word. (Romans 10: 14-15)
Participants are required to complete the entry form with written parental consent.
Essay and entry forms should be emailed to essay@kofc4038.org by Friday, December 1, 2023.
A panel of judges will select a winning essay for each grade. The writer of the winning essay from each grade will receive a $50 award and move to the state level of judging for a possibility to win $100 award. Winners of state will move to the national level of judging where 1st place wins $300 and the 2nd and 3rd place each wins $100.
